National Post Article

There's a good article on the back page of section one of the National Post today:

"This Bread is More scary than it Looks," National Post, Tuesday, March 15, 2005, page A20. By Rosie Schwartz.

The Online version has a different title. I am not sure how long the link will be valid.

Interesting -- one of the better explanations of CD that I've read in a while; one of few newspaper articles that hasn't called it an "allergy." Increasing awareness isn't a bad thing.

It is also interesting to see how much more information, in general, is out there. I was diagnosed about 8 years ago and even that recently was told that CD was "really quite rare". I also found that very few people had heard of it. Now it seems that many people are familiar with it, even if they don't really understand the disease or what "gluten" is. Makes eating out quite a bit easier, and there are much better products around now.

Hopefully awareness will be as good one day here as it is in parts of Europe -- I still probably would not eat at McD's even if they get GF buns like they have in Sweden, but eating out would be less of a guessing game!
