Deep Blue Fish 'n Chips, 749 Broadview Avenue, Toronto, ON M4K 2P6; 416.463.6789

I got a message from Sue, who says that a new fish & chips shop, called Deep Blue, has opened on Broadview just steps south of the Danforth (on the east side). They have a GF & lactose-free batter. She adds: "It looks like a separate fryer but I didn’t check it out but hope to soon."

This sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out. There is a thread about this place on Chowhound, here.

Called today, separate fryer for the batters (hurray), separate fryer for the shellfish, etc. Sounds great & will try tomorrow.

Deep Blue got a rave review from NOW magazine. The headline reads "New spot vies for honours as T.O.'s best spot for fish and chips"

I finally got there - great fish & chips, separate fryers - I think they'll have to work out a few bugs - they have a lot of stuff going on in a small space (i.e. they serve a green pea hummus on the side & use the same spoon to put the hummus on a floor tortilla) but the fish was excellent.
